Cultural and Global Understanding
Hirokazu Kato, who created the AR toolkit was from Japan. Without the toolkit, people all over the world would not have the correct tools in order to create any type of augmented reality from their home or office. Because of this great innovation businesses, companies, schools, and families are able to access augmented reality from their computers/mobile devices.By using augmented reality, people are able to have access to other people throughout the world and technology that would not usually be available to them. For example if a class is studying about England, they could go online to a website about an museum in London, England and use augmented reality to experience some of the culture and artifacts that would be there. The AR technology can be used around the global. Professionals in the computer science industry are building off of others ideas to continue to make this technology even better. People will have access to 3-d images, like different animals, climates, and cultural activities that happen around the global. Foreign Languages can be taught in a more interact way and help students experience different cultures without leaving the country.
Solving Real Life Problems
Augmented reality is all about solving real life problem. It could be used to find the perimeter of a yard so that someone can build a fence, where someone could find the cheapest refrigerator, how far is the nearest Chinese restaurant, and what was it like in Ancient Egypt? Augmented reality helps to train students in the military, medical, and automotive field. All of these types of training uses simulators to simulate real life problems to see how the students would react in that type of situation.
